Tottenham Hotspur will not entertain bids to part ways with 29-year-old Italian international Guglielmo Vicario in the winter transfer window amid his recent exit links.
According to a report by Football Insider, Guglielmo Vicario has faced an uncertain future at Tottenham Hotspur in recent weeks. However, the North London club will not entertain any bids to part ways with the Italian international in the winter transfer window.
Pete O’Rourke said, “I don’t see a move in January, no chance of that. He’s obviously Tottenham’s number one keeper. Tottenham won’t want to lose him midway through the season as well. In the summer, that remains to be seen if there’s other goalkeepers out there available that Tottenham could bring in to become number one, then something could happen with Vicario.”
How has Guglielmo Vicario fared at Tottenham so far?
Guglielmo Vicario has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Tottenham Hotspur from FC Empoli in a deal worth €20 million in July 2023. While the 29-year-old has made considerable progress the last two years, he has also been inconsistent during his spell with the North London club. However, he was instrumental in Tottenham’s triumphant performance in the UEFA Europa League final against Manchester United.
The Italian international has made nearly 74 appearances thus far for Tottenham while keeping 23 clean sheets and conceding 132 goals. However, Vicario’s long-term future at the North London club is uncertain after a few high-profile errors in the first few months of the 2025/26 season.
What next for Vicario?
Recent reports have linked Guglielmo Vicario with Inter Milan. The Serie A giants are scouring the market for a goalkeeper, as Yann Sommer is in the twilight of his career. With Josep Martinez yet to make a convincing argument of becoming the next first-choice goalkeeper for Inter Milan, the Nerazzurri must scour the market for a goalkeeper.
Vicario has thus emerged as a viable target for Inter Milan, with a bid on the cards in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, recent reports have linked Tottenham with several goalkeeper as they look for a long-term replacement, with Bart Verbruggen among the North London club’s target.
