Crystal Palace and Fulham are set to be involved in an intense transfer battle for Watford attacking sensation Rocco Vata.
Irish youth international Rocco Vata has made quite a name for himself with his impressive performances in the Championship, and it has resulted in interest from some of the biggest clubs across Europe.
According to an update by Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur, Fulham and Crystal Palace are keen on signing the young winger, and they are set to be involved in a five-way transfer tussle involving the likes of Atalanta, Galatasaray, and Eintracht Frankfurt.
Rocco Vata came up the ranks at Celtic before joining Watford in the summer of 2024. The 20-year-old has only gone from strength to strength over the last 18 months. The Irish winger has featured in a total of 47 matches for the Championship outfit, and he has contributed towards 12 goals. Four of those goal contributions have come in the ongoing season.
While Watford have not been at their best, Vata has certainly been one of their standout performers. His work has not gone unnoticed as clubs in the English top flight are closely monitoring him ahead of a potential transfer.
Premier League duo to face stiff competition
Crystal Palace and Fulham are both keen on signing the 20-year-old. The Eagles have a great track record when it comes to signing young, talented players from the Championship, and Rocco Vata is someone who could surely help them in the short as well as the long run.
Even the player might be keen on joining Crystal Palace, given the opportunities they tend to hand youngsters. Meanwhile, Fulham are looking to add more firepower to their attack, as Marco Silva, whose own future remains uncertain amid contract talks, is not satisfied with the options he currently has.
Apart from the English clubs, Atalanta, Galatasaray, and Eintracht Frankfurt have also been monitoring the 20-year-old. Despite suffering a hamstring injury, he is still valued at £20 million. While all five clubs can afford to fork that kind of fee, Crystal Palace and Fulham could try to lure him with the opportunity of playing in the Premier League, widely regarded as the best league in the world.
