Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United are all set to loan out Kobbie Mainoo, Ayden Heaven, Diego Leon, and Sekou Kone in January.
Manchester United have started drawing up plans for the upcoming transfer window. While they will look to bolster their squad with a few key additions, United will also be looking to offload a few players.
The Red Devils will look to trim their squad and make key decisions with regards to the future of their young prospects who have struggled to get enough minutes under the Portuguese manager. According to a report from Fichajes, the Red Devils are set to loan out Kobbie Mainoo, Ayden Heaven, Diego Leon, and Sekou Kone.
Their absence from Europe and recent struggles have forced the coaching staff to approach things differently. There are not being able to hand enough minutes to their young stars, who have the potential to be special players going forward.
Young prospects to leave United in January
Kobbie Mainoo is by far the biggest name on the list of players who could leave Old Trafford in the upcoming transfer window. The English international was keen on securing a temporary move away during the summer to secure regular minutes.
However, Amorim blocked a potential exit as he didn’t want to weaken his squad. But since the Portuguese manager hasn’t been able to hand him enough minutes, the Red Devils are now considering letting him go out on loan.
The Manchester-based giants are also ready to sanction departures of Ayden Heaven, Diego Leon, and Sekou Kone. While the trio have excelled in their youth setup, they haven’t had enough first-team minutes needed to continue their progress at a similar pace.
Leon feels minutes every week are a must for him to reach his potential, and that is unlikely to happen at Old Trafford anytime soon. Meanwhile, injury struggles have made life difficult for Kone. Amorim hasn’t been able to integrate him into their first team, and they feel a loan move could help him out.
While Heaven looked set to establish himself in their first team, the return of more established centre-backs has relegated him to the bench. As a result, a temporary move away could help his cause.
Not only will their departure make room for new arrivals, but it could also help the players strengthen their case for a place in their first team upon their return.
