Crystal Palace will reportedly look to sign 25-year-old French full-back Sacha Boey from Bayern Munich in the winter transfer window.
According to a report on the Bayern Insider podcast, as relayed by 4-4-2, Sacha Boey is the subject of interest from Bayern Munich. The Eagles are keen on reinforcing their first-team squad by signing a new right wing-back in the winter transfer window. So, the 25-year-old Bayern Munich wide player has emerged as a target for the South London outfit.
The 2024/25 FA Cup winners have already initiated their move to sign the Frenchman, as Oliver Glasner has “discussed the matter with Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund” over a possible winter move. Meanwhile, the Bundesliga champions will demand around €15 million to part ways with Boey in the January transfer window.
How has Sacha Boey fared at Bayern Munich?
Sacha Boey has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Bayern Munich from Galatasaray in a deal worth €30 million in January 2024. The 25-year-old has primarily been a backup player for the Bavarian outfit, and that has affected his output.
The French full-back has not even managed 50 appearances thus far for Bayern Munich while chipping in with only one goal and five assists. So, it is hardly surprising that Boey faces an uncertain future at the Bundesliga club. However, the player’s stock remains high, with Crystal Palace among the prospective suitors vying for his signature heading into the winter transfer window.
London calling?
Crystal Palace’s interest in Sacha Boey is understandable. The Eagles are scouring the market for a new right wing-back heading into the winter transfer window, as Daniel Munoz faces an uncertain future at Selhurst Park. While the Colombian international remains a pivotal figure for Crystal Palace, his exploits have piqued the attention of several European bigwigs.
So, Crystal Palace cannot afford to be caught off guard, and they have thus set their sights on Boey. The latest report has revealed that Oliver Glasner has already “discussed the matter with Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund” over a possible winter move. Meanwhile, the Bundesliga champions will demand around €15 million to part ways with the Frenchman.
Bayern Munich’s price tag makes Boey an affordable target for Crystal Palace. So, even if Munoz does not depart from Selhurst Park, Glasner will have an alternative to the Colombian international for a packed second half of the 2025/26 season.
