West Ham United are among five clubs interested in signing AC Milan misfit Santiago Gimenez in the January window.
According to Ekrem Konur, Santiago Gimenez could leave AC Milan in January with as many as five clubs vying for his signature. West Ham United are part of the tussle for the Mexican hit man, as the Rossoneri are now angling to bring in a replacement.
West Ham United clearly needs a new striker to help the club progress and secure their safety in the Premier League. Nuno Espirito Santo, with his experience in football management, has the pedigree to help the Hammers finish much higher than they currently are, but he would need certain areas of his squad to be strengthened.
One of those is the centre-forward position, with both his senior options proving to be unreliable at the moment. Callum Wilson is starting to shine for the Hammers, but there are big question marks over Niclas Fullkrug. The German international could be sold, with AC Milan one of the many clubs keen to sign him in January.
Incidentally, West Ham are keen to bring AC Milan’s Santiago Gimenez, a year after the 24-year-old arrived at San Siro from Feyenoord. The Mexican striker has had a modest time with the Rossoneri so far, but Massimiliano Allegri has concluded that he does not fit into his style, with the player managing no goals so far this season in Serie A, despite making eight starts.
West Ham United are among five clubs currently vying for the 24-year-old’s signature, with Sunderland, Real Betis, Eintracht Frankfurt, and Brentford the others. Should he leave San Siro, Milan are already looking at different replacement options amid links with a loan move for Dominic Solanke while also angling for a move for Real Madrid’s Gonzalo Garcia.
West Ham are looking for a new striker
West Ham are in the market for a new striker, with Santiago Gimenez one of the firm options they are considering at the moment. Beyond the 24-year-old Mexican international, they have also tried to sign Endrick, but that chase has fallen off their radar, while Irish star Troy Parrott is also a target.
Union Saint-Gilloise’s Promise David is a firm target for West Ham, with the Canadian international also featuring on others’ shortlists. As things stand, the Hammers are set to prioritise a move for a new goalscorer, potentially to replace Fullkrug in the process.
