Real Madrid are growing optimistic about signing Ibrahima Konate on a Bosman deal next summer, with the defender yet to decide his future.
According to TEAMtalk, Real Madrid are increasingly confident of signing Ibrahima Konate on a free transfer. The French defender is yet to decide his future beyond next summer when his Liverpool deal expires, as talk of a switch to the Santiago Bernabeu gains momentum.
Liverpool are in a difficult period at the moment as Arne Slot continues to lose ground with results going against him. The loss to PSV Eindhoven cast a further layer of doubt over his immediate future at the club, while there are already ongoing issues in the background with regards to player futures.
One of the biggest talking points is the future of Ibrahima Konate, with the French international well into the final year of his deal at Liverpool. The centre-back has insisted he will decide his future soon. However, he failed to indicate either his loyalty to Liverpool, nor did he mention any preference. Konate has been a top performer for the club since his £36 million move from RB Leipzig back in 2021.
Real Madrid have him on a list of defenders they would like to sign, including fellow soon-to-be-free agents Marc Guehi and Dayot Upamecano. The former is Liverpool’s key target ahead of future windows, with the Crystal Palace captain currently the favourite to replace Konate at Anfield.
Liverpool have reportedly offered a bumper new contract to Konate to tempt him into staying at the club, but the defender has yet to decide. The Frenchman is not only chased by Real Madrid, with PSG and Barcelona also in the mix for his signature ahead of next summer, which all but rules out a winter exit from Merseyside.

Liverpool are not losing hope with Ibrahima Konate at the moment, as they believe they have an equal chance to keep the French internatioanl on board. For now, Real Madrid could be considered the favourites to sign him, and hence they are optimistic about landing the French international.
