PSG are plotting a €50 million move to beat Barcelona to the signature of Manchester United misfit Marcus Rashford.
Marcus Rashford has revived himself since joining Barcelona on loan from Manchester United in the summer. Following his sensational run of form in Spain, multiple top clubs are now keen on signing the English international.
According to a report from Fichajes, Luis Enrique is a massive admirer of the 28-year-old, and he has asked the PSG board to secure his services. The Spanish manager wants more quality and depth on the flanks and considers Rashford an ideal fit for his system.
Following a poor run of form and a fallout with manager Ruben Amorim, Marcus Rashford ended up spending the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa. While he returned to Old Trafford in the summer, there was no way back for him in the team.
The Red Devils were ready to offload him, and Barcelona made the most out of it by securing his services on loan with a purchase option worth €35 million. The English winger has been in sensational form since joining the Catalan giants.
With quite a few of their star forwards struggling with injuries, Rashford has been the go-to man for Hansi Flick. The Manchester United misfit has been involved in 17 matches across competitions, and he has contributed towards 15 goals (6 goals, 9 assists).
While the Catalan giants have a bargain buy option to make the move permanent, their financial situation is not the best. As a result, there is no certainty of his staying at the Spanish club beyond this season despite their desire to seal a deal.
PSG are ready to go all out for Rashford
Marcus Rashford remains on Manchester United’s books, but he is no longer a part of their plans. As a result, they will look to offload him if Barcelona do not trigger the purchase clause. PSG are keeping tabs on him, and they could look to make the most out of it.
Luis Enrique considers him a great option to bolster his attack, and they are willing to make a significant investment to bring him to France. They are preparing an initial offer that could be worth around €50 million. The offer far exceeds Barcelona’s purchase clause, and it may tip the scales in their favour.
