Manchester United are keen on acquiring the services of Robert Lewandowski, who is on the wishlist of four other top clubs.
Robert Lewandowski’s future has become a massive talking point as his contract at Barcelona runs out. Despite his being at the final phase of his career, multiple top clubs are still willing to have him on their roster.
According to a report from Fichajes, Manchester United are all set to compete with four other clubs to sign the Polish international. Interested clubs are making initial contacts as they look to assess the conditions of a potential deal where he could be available for free.
After a sensational eight-year-long spell at Bayern Munich, Lewandowski made the move to Barcelona in 2022 in a deal worth €50 million. While he was already into his 30s, the Catalan giants decided to fork out a significant fee to sign him, and he certainly hasn’t disappointed them.
The 37-year-old has been one of their standout performers in recent seasons. While he has had a few injury troubles this season, the Polish striker has returned to his best, having bagged a hat-trick before the international break.
His contract at Barcelona runs out at the end of the season. While there is an option to extend it by another 12 months, there are high chances of him leaving the club as a free agent. Multiple top clubs are keeping tabs on his situation and could try to secure his services for free.
The Red Devils want Lewandowski
Manchester United are one of the clubs that have been linked with him. Ruben Amorim is a massive admirer of the Polish striker and believes he could be a great short-term fix for them. However, the Red Devils are reluctant to match his massive €32 million per season salary.
If he is willing to lower his demands, the Red Devils will be more than happy to have him on their bench. They are set to rival the likes of Fenerbahce, AC Milan, Al Nassr and Atletico Madrid in their pursuit of Lewandowski.
United to rival four top clubs
The Turkish giants are all set to make him their priority target, and they look set to cash in on Youssef En-Nesyri to make room for the Barcelona star’s arrival. Meanwhile, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is pushing to bring him to AC Milan. Since he could be available for free, the Italian giants feel someone with his experience could be a great help for the young squad.
Lewandowski could also consider joining rival Atletico Madrid, where Diego Simeone highly values his competitiveness and his ability to have an instant impact in the final third. Even Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr are keen on his signature, and they are ready to break the bank for him. However, the 37-year-old’s first priority remains a move within Europe.
