Arsenal and Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing 29-year-old Guinean striker Serhou Guirassy from Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund.
Serhou Guirassy is valued at €50 million as per a report by Caught Offside, and it will be interesting to see if Arsenal and Manchester United decide to make a move for him. The Premier League giants will face stiff competition from PSG for his signature.
Arsenal signed Viktor Gyokeres in the summer transfer window, and they might not be able to accommodate the Borussia Dortmund striker in the starting lineup. Guirassy is at the peak of his career, and he will want to play regularly. Sitting on the bench at the North London club will not be appealing for him.
If Arsenal cannot provide him with game-time guarantees, it is unlikely that he will want to join them. Meanwhile, Manchester United could certainly use more depth in their attacking unit. Even though they have signed Benjamin Sesko, the Slovenian is still adapting to the Premier League, and he needs more support in final third.
Signing another player to share the goal-scoring burden would be ideal for them. Manchester United might be able to provide him with more opportunities compared to Arsenal. It will be interesting to see if they are willing to pay for him.
€50 million is a substantial demand for a player who will enter the twilight stages of his career in the coming seasons. It remains to be seen whether the Bundesliga giants prepared to accept a more reasonable deal for the player.
Meanwhile, PSG are interested in the player as well. Les Parisiens have recently won the Ligue 1 title and the UEFA Champions League, and they will be an attractive destination for the player. The 29-year-old has shown his quality in Germany, and he will look to play for elite clubs now.
Guirassy will want to join a team where he will be able to fight for major trophies. It will be interesting to see where the Borussia Dortmund striker ends up eventually. It is fair to assume that the Bundesliga outfit will have to be reasonable with their demands for the move to go through. Fetching €50 million for the striker could prove to be difficult.
