Aston Villa and Tottenham are ready to battle it out with Bayern Munich for the signature of RSC Anderlecht midfield sensation Nathan De Cat.

The Belgian youth international’s performances for club and country haven’t gone unnoticed. Multiple top clubs from across Europe are keen on signing the teenager, who, despite his young age, has shown exceptional maturity on the pitch.

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Aston Villa, Tottenham, and Bayern Munich are all keen on signing Nathan De Cat and could enter into a bidding war for the signature of the Anderlecht sensation.

De Cat has come up the ranks at the Belgian club. He got promoted to their first team in the last summer window and hasn’t looked back since. The 17-year-old has already featured in 26 matches for their senior side, with 19 of those appearances coming in the ongoing season.

While he prefers playing as a central midfielder, he is equally effective in a defensive role. His impressive performances, along with his massive potential, have placed him on the radar of some of the biggest clubs in Europe.

English clubs are keen on signing De Cat

With his contract at Anderlecht running out in 18 months, top European clubs are ready to try and prise him away in the near future. Aston Villa, Tottenham and Bayern Munich are three of the leading candidates for his signature.

Unai Emery’s team consider him a great option for the long run, and their recruitment team considers him an ideal partner for Boubacar Kamara in their midfield pivot. Meanwhile, Thomas Frank feels the versatile midfielder could do wonders for them.

Bayern Munich are leading the race

Not only will he add much-needed creativity, but his ability to operate as a deep-lying playmaker could offer Spurs far greater control and variety in midfield. But English clubs are set to face stiff competition from Bayern Munich, who are constantly on the lookout for young players with massive potential.

The German giants consider him an ideal fit for their club and have already initiated formal talks with his representatives. Anderlecht want in excess of €20 million as a fixed fee and would like an overall package of around €35 million.

Since both English clubs could easily match their demands, Bayern are looking to beat them to his signature by offering a total package of €38 million. They are also ready to let him stay at the Belgian club for now to ease his transition.
