Endrick too expensive for West Ham United

West Ham United will reportedly face a tall order to sign 19-year-old Brazilian wonderkid Endrick from Real Madrid in the winter transfer window.

According to a report by Graeme Bailey on Hammers News, Endrick is the subject of interest of West Ham United. The Hammers are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a striker in the winter transfer window. So, the 19-year-old Real Madrid prodigy has emerged as a target for the East London outfit. However, a winter deal may be “too expensive” for West Ham.

Graeme Bailey said, “West Ham are working hard behind scenes. They have been and are talking to Madrid. They need to improve things for Nuno. Endrick and Garcia are players they like and, in theory, [a deal] is possible. On Endrick, we know his deal is big and would be tough. As it stands, I am told he is most likely to stay in Spain on loan. Garcia is possible, but there are a lot of clubs who want him.”

Endrick and his frustrations

Endrick has had to bide his time since joining Real Madrid from Palmeiras in a deal worth £52 million last year. Los Blancos accelerated the move and beat several European bigwigs to the young striker’s signature by sealing the move before his 18th birthday. However, the 19-year-old has not been a regular starter for Real Madrid, with his game time reducing this season.

The Brazilian international has yet to make an appearance this season, and the situation has left him frustrated. It has also piqued the attention of several well-known clubs, with West Ham United among the prospective suitors vying for his signature heading into the winter transfer window.

London calling?

West Ham United’s interest in Endrick is understandable. The Hammers are scouring the market for a striker heading into the winter transfer window, as Niclas Fullkrug continues to struggle with fitness issues. Additionally, Callum Wilson is not reliable enough to be West Ham’s only striker for the remainder of the 2025/26 season due to his injury battles in recent years.

Several candidates, including Kaio Jorge, have thus emerged on West Ham’s radar, with Endrick also a viable target. However, a winter move for the disgruntled Real Madrid wonderkid is a tall order due to his wages. The South American attacker currently pockets £100,000-a-week wages, and matching them will be an uphill task for West Ham.

Meanwhile, recent reports have claimed that Real Madrid would prefer to loan Endrick to a club in La Liga. So, West Ham must look elsewhere for a striker heading into the winter transfer window, with the 19-year-old Brazilian wonderkid “too expensive” for them.
