Manchester United and Tottenham keen on Antoine Semenyo

Manchester United and Tottenham are heavily interested in a future move for Antoine Semenyo after a terrific start to the season at Bournemouth.

According to Football Insider, Manchester United and Tottenham are considering future moves for Antoine Semenyop. The Bournemouth star has been on fire this season, and there are more clubs expected to join the race, as he could potentially become the Cherries’ record sale ever.

Bournemouth had a summer of transition following the sales of some of their top performers from last season. To put it into context, the Cherries, under Andoni Iraola, came very close to finishing in one of the European places, as the club then chose to cash in on some of their key talents.

Players like Dean Huijsen, Illia Zabarnyi, Dango Ouattara and Milos Kerkez left the side, which made them weak on paper. However, with yet another summer of smart recruitment, as well as the form of one Antoine Semenyo, Bournemouth are currently fourth in the Premier League standings.

Semenyo has six goals and three assists in his first seven games in the league, which does make him one of the best performers this season, alongside Erling Haaland. It was unsurprising that many clubs were priced out of a move earlier in the summer, as the Cherries had no financial need to make the sale. Eventually, they managed to tie Semenyo down to a new deal, which has since seen the 25-year-old star on fire this season.

Bournemouth are uninterested in a January sale, as it would make little sense for them to sell him, given the important role he has on this side. However, a summer sale could be possible, with a host of teams, including Chelsea are showing an interest. The likes of Manchester United and Tottenham are the ones serious about bringing the Ghanaian at the moment.

Manchester United and Tottenham for Antoine Semenyo

Tottenham are very keen to sign Semenyo in the future, but ahead of the January window, they were quoted a huge price by Bournemouth. Whether Spurs are ready to pay over the odds for the player in the winter window remains to be seen, although Bournemouth are not realistically planning a departure for the 25-year-old star on fire this season.

Manchester United recruited heavily in the attacking third this summer and are unlikely to dip into the market ahead of January to further add to the attack. Hence, for the Red Devils, a summer approach seems more likely than one in January, as Ruben Amorim might need to strengthen other areas of the pitch.
