Manchester United, Tottenham and Crystal Palace will have to fork out €60 million to bring Conor Gallagher back to the Premier League.
Conor Gallagher could end up securing a return to the English top flight mid-season. Manchester United, Tottenham and Crystal Palace are all keen on his signature, and according to Mundo Deportivo via SportWitness, €60 million could help them strike a deal with Atletico Madrid.
Gallagher came up the ranks at Chelsea and made quite a name for himself while playing for their first team. While he was an integral part of their team, the Blues decided to cash in on him to resolve some financial issues. Atletico Madrid made the most out of it and secured his services in the summer of 2024.
While he was involved in 50 matches during his debut campaign, he racked up just over 2,500 minutes of first-team action. Gallagher has made the most out of the limited opportunities he has had, and his versatility has come in handy.
But he doesn’t seem to be an ideal fit for Diego Simeone’s system. He has only had 182 minutes in his first six outings this season, which suggests he doesn’t have a prominent role in the team. With the World Cup coming up next summer, the 25-year-old seeks regular minutes, and he could look to leave the Spanish giants in the winter if things don’t change.
Premier League giants want to sign Gallagher
Manchester United, Crystal Palace and Tottenham have emerged as potential destinations for the former Chelsea midfielder. The Red Devils and the Eagles were keen on his signature in the summer as well, but they failed to strike a deal.
United and Palace have retained their interest, while Spurs have entered the race for his signature as Thomas Frank seeks more quality in the centre of the park. He wants someone who can contribute on both ends and help control the tempo. Gallagher is seen as an ideal fit.
The 25-year-old had an impressive loan spell at Palace back in the day, and they are now hoping to bring him back to the club. Meanwhile, Ruben Amorim wants a proven Premier League star to add more quality in midfield. Gallagher could certainly help his cause.
While the Chelsea graduate could push for an exit, Atletico see him as an important part of their squad despite him not being a regular starter under Simeone. They want him to continue at the club. However, an offer of over €60 million in the winter window could force them to change their stance.
