Premier League giants Arsenal and Manchester United will have to pay €30 million to sign Sevilla midfield sensation Lucien Agoume.
According to a report from Fichajes, Arsenal and Manchester United are both interested in the services of Lucien Agoume. The Premier League giants could knock on Sevilla’s door to try and strike a deal in the upcoming winter transfer window.
Agoume seems to have taken his game to the next level since joining the Spanish club from Inter Milan at the start of 2024. While it was an initial loan deal, the move was made permanent in the following summer.
So far, the young defensive midfielder has featured in a total of 55 matches and has even contributed towards five goals. He has started all their league games in the new season, which does give a clear indication of how important he is to Sevilla.
The 23-year-old has a strong physical presence; he brings strength and stability in the centre of the park. He has some exceptional numbers in the Premier League this season. Agoume has an average of 2.3 interceptions per game and an 88% success rate when it comes to passing.
Arsenal to rival United for Agoume
His impressive performances and massive potential have put him on the radar of multiple top clubs in England. Arsenal are one of the clubs that were interested in his services during the summer, but they eventually opted for Christian Norgaard.
The Gunners could return for Agoume in the winter, as he can not only strengthen their midfield in the short term, but the 23-year-old could prove to be a great addition for the long run. The North London club could provide competition to Manchester United, who have him as a priority target for the winter.
Ruben Amorim wants to bring in a strong defensive midfielder, as he seeks more balance in his midfield. While they went hard for Carlos Baleba in the summer, Brighton’s price tag proved to be too much for them. Now, they are focusing on Agoume, who seems like a more realistic option for them at this stage.
Signing him won’t be that straightforward, as his contract at Sevilla runs until 2028, and they want at least €30 million to sit on the negotiation table. The Spanish club do not want to weaken their midfield mid-season; however, a strong financial offer could change things.
