Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly look to part ways with 29-year-old Malian international Yves Bissouma before the summer transfer window closes in other countries.
According to a report by Football Insider, Yves Bissouma has no future at Tottenham Hotspur after rubbing Thomas Frank the wrong way. The newly-appointed Tottenham manager has sanctioned the Malian midfielder’s exit, as he is “unhappy with the 29-year-old’s attitude” and has no plans to include the player in his plans for the 2025/26 season.
However, with time running out before the summer transfer window shuts down in Turkiye and Saudi Arabia, the 2024/25 UEFA Europa League winners are ready to sanction a loan exit to get Bissouma temporarily away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The African midfielder is also reportedly eager to part ways with Tottenham this summer.
Yves Bissouma and his situation
Yves Bissouma has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Tottenham Hotspur from Brighton & Hove Albion in a deal worth £25 million in July 2022. While the 29-year-old midfielder has shown flashes of brilliance during his stint with the North London club, he has become a peripheral figure in recent weeks after leaving Thomas Frank unimpressed with his attitude.
The Malian international has made 100 appearances thus far for Tottenham while chipping in with one goal. However, Bissouma has no future at the North London club, and the situation has piqued the attention of several well-known clubs. Widespread reports have linked the player with Fenerbahce and Galatasaray in the summer transfer window.
What next?
A few weeks ago, reports suggested Yves Bissouma was on the verge of joining Galatasaray. That move did not materialise, as the Turkish Super Lig champions kept hold of pivotal figures in their midfield department. Fenerbahce then emerged as a suitor and worked on a late deal in the final days of the summer transfer window.
However, while personal terms did not pose an issue for Fenerbahce or Bissouma, the move has reportedly collapsed due to issues in his medical tests. Additionally, clubs are reluctant to sign the Tottenham outcast on a permanent deal.
So, with time running out in the summer transfer window in Turkiye and Saudi Arabia, the 2024/25 UEFA Europa League winners are ready to sanction Bissouma’s loan exit in the coming days. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham’s latest plan helps the North London club get rid of the 29-year-old Malian international.
