The Reds have been eager to reinforce their defensive unit by signing another centre-back in the final hours of the summer transfer window despite landing Giovanni Leoni. Liverpool recently submitted a bid worth £35 million to sign the Englishman, who has been keen on moving to Anfield this summer. The Premier League champions are now inching closer to signing the Crystal Palace captain, even though the Eagles are demanding a package worth £40 million.
