Paris Saint-Germain flop Randal Kolo Muani is reportedly keen on joining Serie A giants Juventus instead of Newcastle United in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by TEAMtalk, Randal Kolo Muani is the subject of interest from Newcastle United. The Magpies are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a striker in the summer transfer window. So, the 26-year-old Paris Saint-Germain misfit has emerged as a target for the Tyneside outfit.
However, the 2024/25 EFL Cup winners do not have a chance of signing the Frenchman, who favours a move to Juventus in the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, PSG will demand a package worth €60 million to part ways with Kolo Muani; a loan deal will come with a purchase obligation clause of €45-50 million, with the remaining being the loan fee.
Randal Kolo Muani and his PSG problems
Randal Kolo Muani has barely made his mark since joining Paris Saint-Germain from Eintracht Frankfurt in a big-money deal in September 2023. The 26-year-old was a hot property after his excellent spell in Germany, with many European bigwigs chasing his signature. However, he failed to deliver the goods in his first 18 months at Parc des Princes before Juventus signed him on loan earlier this year.
The French striker enjoyed some promising moments during his spell with Juventus, amassing ten goals and three assists in 22 outings. However, a permanent move to the Serie A club has not seen the light of day thus far in the summer transfer window, even though interest from the Bianconeri remains. Meanwhile, he is also a target for Newcastle United.
Premier League move on the horizon?
Newcastle United’s interest in Randal Kolo Muani is understandable. The Magpies are scouring the market for a striker this summer amid uncertainties surrounding Alexander Isak’s long-term future. With Callum Wilson departing from St. James’ Park as a free agent, William Osula is the only striker in Eddie Howe’s squad.
So, Newcastle United must sign a striker this summer, with Kolo Muani emerging as a viable target. The 26-year-old Frenchman’s ability to play on the flanks makes him an appealing target for the Tyneside outfit. However, the PSG flop has no interest in joining Newcastle United, instead preferring a move to Juventus.
Manchester United and Tottenham have also met a similar fate, with Kolo Muani determined to join Juventus. However, PSG’s asking price of €60 million may pose an issue. The Ligue 1 champions want a purchase obligation clause worth €45-50 million if the French international completes a loan move to Juventus, with the rest being the loan fee.
