FC Midtjylland are demanding €20 million to sell their prolific forward Franculino Dju, with Everton among the teams interested
According to Marca, Everton are interested in the signing of FC Midtjylland forward Franculino Dju. The Premier League sides are not alone in the chase as there are some other teams across Europe keen, with the Scandinavian side demanding at least €20 million for the striker.
Franculino Dju might be one of the lesser-known forwards around the continent, but he has shown ample quality to be chased by some of the prominent teams in Europe. The African attacker, who is a product of the SL Benfica system, has been a prolific presence for FC Midtjylland, contributing to 16 goals last season alone.
Overall, he has 40 goals and 12 assists for Midtjylland during his time with the club, but that could soon end as some better clubs are keen. Everton are interested in Dju as a potential option for their forward line. There are considerable doubts over the future of current striker Beto, while Dominic Calvert-Lewin has already left following the expiry of his contract.
Everton have signed Thierno Barry during the summer, and the idea for David Moyes is to bring in another forward to support the summer arrival. Dju could be the ideal addition in that regard, with Midtjylland quoting €20 million as their asking price to sell the 21-year-old African forward.
There are other teams in the mix, such as RB Leipzig, who have recently sold Benjamin Sesko to Manchester United and would be keen to find a lesser-known striker to fill the boots. AS Roma, owned by the same Friedkin Group as Everton, are also keen on the attacker, although the Toffees might be the front runners at this moment.
Everton keen on adding top attackers this summer
Everton are not about to be done with their summer spending, as they are keen to bolster their attack, among other positions on the pitch. Jack Grealish is on the verge of joining the Toffees from Manchester City on a loan deal, with the deal including a hefty purchase option.
Tyler Dibling is also high on their list, with Southampton so far rejecting at least two separate bids, as talks continue between the two clubs. Adding someone like Dju would be a good move, as the €20 million price tag placed by Midtjylland will seem appealing to the Toffees for the 21-year-old forward.
