Leeds United will reportedly look to sign 26-year-old Portuguese winger Jota Silva from Nottingham Forest in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by Record, as relayed by Sport Witness, Jota Silva is the subject of interest from Leeds United. The Whites are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a wide attacker in the summer transfer window. So, the 26-year-old Nottingham Forest winger has emerged as a target for the newly promoted Premier League club.
The 2024/25 EFL Championship winners have submitted an enquiry over a possible move in the summer transfer window. However, Silva has ignored Leeds United amid his links with Sporting CP, and a return to his homeland may be on the cards for the Nottingham Forest attacker.
Jota Silva and his situation
Jota Silva has been in and out of the starting lineup since joining Nottingham Forest from Vitoria Guimaraes last summer. The 26-year-old was solid in his debut season with the high-flying Premier League club, chipping in with four goals and three assists in only 1,136 minutes of game time across 37 appearances in all competitions.
However, the Portuguese winger’s long-term future at Nottingham Forest is uncertain, with a return to his homeland on the cards amid his links with Sporting CP. While the Primeira Liga champions are optimistic about signing him, Leeds United will aim to beat the competition to his signature in the summer transfer window.
Move across the Premier League on the cards?
Leeds United’s interest in Jota Silva is understandable. The Whites are scouring the market for a wide attacker this summer, even though Daniel James, Wilfried Gnonto, and Largie Ramazani have been impressive for the West Midlands outfit. So, Leeds United wanted to sign Igor Paixao before Marseille beat the newly promoted Premier League club to the Brazilian winger’s signature.
Silva has emerged as a viable alternative to Paixao, and the Nottingham Forest winger’s experience in the Premier League makes him an appealing target for Leeds United. However, the 2024/25 EFL Championship winners face a tall order to land him in the summer transfer window.
The 26-year-old Portuguese winger has ignored Leeds United’s interest thus far, as he is keen on joining Sporting CP in the summer transfer window. However, the Primeira Liga champions must find a common ground with Nottingham Forest on the terms of the deal.
