Chelsea uninterested in Marc Cucurella sale amid Al-Nassr links

Chelsea will not entertain any bids to part ways with 27-year-old Spanish international Marc Cucurella in the summer transfer window amid his recent links with Al-Nassr.

According to a report by football.london, Marc Cucurella is the subject of interest from Al-Nassr. The big-spending Saudi giants are keen on reinforcing their defensive unit by signing a left-back in the summer transfer window. So, the 27-year-old Chelsea wide player has emerged as a target for the Knights of Najd.

However, Chelsea will not entertain any bids to part ways with the Spaniard in the summer transfer window, even though Cristiano Ronaldo has been pushing Al-Nassr to secure his services in the coming weeks.

Marc Cucurella and his Chelsea career so far

Marc Cucurella has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Chelsea from Brighton & Hove Albion in a deal worth £60 million in August 2022. The 27-year-old full-back’s spell has been a tale of two halves, as he failed to make his mark until the second half of the 2023/24 season but has been exceptional in the last 18 months.

The Spanish international has turned out over 100 times thus far for Chelsea while chipping in with eight goals and nine assists. Cucurella has become a mainstay at the back for his club and country, and his progress has piqued the attention of several well-known clubs across the world. Al-Nassr will be among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the summer transfer window.

What next?

Al-Nassr’s interest in Marc Cucurella is understandable. The big-spending Saudi giants are keen on adding more world-class players to their squad as they aim to win the Saudi Pro League title in the 2025/26 season. Cristiano Ronaldo has yet to win the big trophy since joining Al-Nassr, and they have been active in the market to land reinforcements.

Joao Felix is on the cusp of joining Al-Nassr, and recent reports suggested that Al-Nassr wanted to add his Chelsea teammate to Stefano Pioli’s squad. However, Chelsea will not part ways with the 27-year-old Spaniard this summer, as they “have no intention of selling” the player.

Chelsea could have banked a profit on the £60 million they forked out to sign Cucurella from Brighton & Hove Albion nearly three years ago. It will be interesting to see who Al-Nassr will identify after Chelsea’s decision not to part ways with him in the summer transfer window.
