Everton considering Adam Aznou swoop

Everton are reportedly considering an ambitious summer swoop for Bayern Munich sensation Adam Aznou this summer.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Everton’s summer rebuild is showing no signs of slowing down, with the Toffees now in active discussions to bring in Bayern Munich’s promising left-back Adam Aznou. After confirming the permanent arrivals of Carlos Alcaraz, Thierno Barry, and Mark Travers, David Moyes is turning his attention to bolstering depth on the left side of defence, a position that has lacked options following the departure of Ashley Young.

Aznou, just 19, is seen as a progressive and dynamic alternative to Vitalii Mykolenko, currently Everton’s only senior left-back. As things stand, talks are progressing well, with a fee of around €9 million being floated.

Why Adam Aznou Fits the Bill

The Moroccan international is highly regarded for his technical ability, attacking instincts, and positional intelligence, all traits that could inject a new dimension to Moyes’s tactical setup. Having come through Barcelona’s famed La Masia before joining Bayern Munich in 2022, Aznou made his senior debut for the Bavarians last November and has already picked up six caps for Morocco.

Adam Aznou spent the second half of last season on loan at Real Valladolid, making 13 appearances despite the club’s eventual relegation from La Liga. Even in a struggling side, his performances were bright enough to attract attention from Merseyside scouts.

Intent being shown

Speaking at a Men in Blazers event in New York, David Moyes was candid about the scale of the task ahead. “We probably need nine or ten more,” he admitted when asked about the club’s recruitment plans. With the Premier League more demanding than ever and a paper-thin squad last season, reinforcements remain crucial, not just at left-back, but also on the wings and in central midfield.

Everton’s business so far has been impressive. Alcaraz has already proven his quality during his loan spell, and both Barry and Travers offer solid competition in key areas. Securing Aznou, a player with pedigree and potential, would mark another smart addition in what’s shaping up to be a pivotal transfer window.

While much of the talk this summer has revolved around Everton’s need to spend wisely, bringing in a player of Aznou’s calibre for under €9 million would represent serious value. Still raw, yes, but with high-level experience at both club and international level, the young full-back is exactly the kind of talent Moyes can shape.

If Everton can close this deal, it’ll be another indicator that the club is finally putting together a squad with depth, versatility, and an eye on the future. With momentum building and Moyes clearly backed by the board, fans have reason to be optimistic that better days lie ahead at Goodison Park.
