Liverpool ready to pay £120 million to sign Alexander Isak, Al-Hilal prepared to cough up £150 million

Liverpool are prepared to break the bank to sign Newcastle mainstay Alexander Isak, while Al-Hilal could attempt to hijack the deal.

Alexander Isak is ready to part ways with Newcastle United this summer. The Swedish international has already made it clear to the club that he is assessing his options amidst interest from Liverpool and Saudi giants Al-Hilal.

According to Graeme Bailey via TBR Football, the Reds remain keen on his signature as he is a dream target for Richard Hughes, and they would be willing to fork out in excess of £120 million to bring him to Anfield.

While speaking to TBR about Isak’s future, Bailey said: “Isak has been Richard Hughes’ dream striker target since last year, I am told. They made an approach for him which was based on the fact they felt the player wanted to move.

“Liverpool are prepared to break the British record for Isak. They won’t go to £150m – I believe – but they could go above £120m and I am not convinced Newcastle say no to that.”

Newcastle United secured Isak’s services back in 2022 from Real Sociedad in a deal worth £63 million. He has since gone on to establish himself as one of the best strikers in the world. His impressive performances have put him on the radar of multiple top clubs.

Liverpool remain keen on Alexander Isak’s signature

Liverpool did knock on the Magpies’ door quite early in the window, but since they were not keen on selling him, the Reds shifted their focus to Hugo Ekitike. While they have already signed the French striker, the Reds still remain interested in the services of Isak.

With the Swede putting in a transfer request, the Merseyside club see this as a great market opportunity. Liverpool are keeping a close eye on his situation and are preparing an offer worth £120 million, which Newcastle United might find very difficult to turn down.

While the Magpies wanted to renew his contract, they were shocked to learn of his demands, and of late, his representatives have informed the club that a renewal is no longer a priority for him. Liverpool seem to be the front-runners, but the PIF want Isak to consider moving to the Middle East.

Al-Hilal want to hijack Liverpool’s move for Isak

Another report from TBR Football suggests Al-Hilal could hijack the deal as they are prepared to fork out £150 million. While PIF own both clubs, there still won’t be any problems in a potential transfer. However, the 25-year-old Swedish international is not really keen on moving to the Middle East at this stage of his career.

However, things could change in the coming weeks depending on the negotiations. While the Magpies were hoping to tie him down to a new contract and were ready to make him their highest-paid player, he wants £300,000-a-week to sign a new deal, which has stunned them.

With Alexander Isak pushing for a move away, they can certainly entertain bids from both clubs. However, it will be interesting to see if either of the offers is good enough.
