Scottish giants Rangers have received a massive boost in their pursuit of Crystal Palace attacking sensation Jesurun Rak-Sakyi.
According to a report from TBR Football, Jesurun Rak-Sakyi is all set to part ways with Crystal Palace in the coming weeks. While multiple English clubs are keen on signing him, the Palace academy graduate seems to have his heart set on a move to Rangers.
Rak-Sakyi was a part of the Chelsea youth setup before he made the switch to Selhurst Park back in 2019. He went up the ranks at some pace and got promoted to their first team in the summer of 2022.
The youngster has only had limited game time at Crystal Palace, and he has embarked on two loan spells away from the club. The English youth international spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Sheffield United. He was involved in a total of 34 league matches and ended up contributing towards nine goals.
Despite having limited game time, the 22-year-old certainly made a mark with his performances. His work has not gone unnoticed as multiple top clubs are now ready to prise him away from Crystal Palace. Championship clubs Southampton, Leicester City, and Coventry are all keen on his signature.
Rangers closing in on Rak-Sakyi’s signature
As per the report, Rangers are front-runners to sign Jesurun Rak-Sakyi. The Scottish giants have been working on a potential deal for some time, and the player prefers joining them ahead of the clubs in the English second division.
While he still has two years left on his deal, Crystal Palace are ready to negotiate his departure for the right price. The Scottish giants are believed to be firm favourites to secure his services. Russell Martin seeks more quality and depth on the right flank and feels the 22-year-old could prove to be a great acquisition for them.
Crystal Palace prefer a permanent departure, but they could also consider a loan deal with a buy option. The two clubs are in talks, and they are currently discussing whether it would be a direct cash deal or an initial loan move. With Rak-Sakyi’s heart set on a move to Rangers, the Scottish giants certainly have the upper hand.
