Fulham, Leeds United, and West Ham United are reportedly keen on signing 33-year-old Iranian striker Mehdi Taremi from Inter Milan in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by Gazzetta dello Sport, as relayed by Sport Witness, Fulham, Leeds United, and West Ham United are interested in Mehdi Taremi. The veteran Iranian striker has no future at Inter Milan, and the Serie A giants are ready to cash in on him for a fee of around €8 million. Meanwhile, the Whites have made their move to sign Taremi after submitting an enquiry over a possible summer move.
Mehdi Taremi and an ill-advised move
Mehdi Taremi has hit a brick wall since joining Inter Milan in a Bosman move last summer. The 33-year-old arrived at the Serie A club amid hype and fanfare surrounding him after being one of the most underrated strikers in the world during his productive spell with FC Porto.
However, the veteran Iranian striker has been a backup player for Inter Milan, with his numbers dropping considerably. Taremi has managed only three goals and nine assists in 43 outings across all competitions for the Nerazzurri. However, his stock in the market is high, with Fulham, Leeds United, and West Ham United among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the summer transfer window.
A man in demand
Fulham will dip into the market for a striker in the summer transfer window after parting ways with Carlos Vinicius. While Rodrigo Muniz is a long-term option for the West London club, they can do with another option amid the Brazilian’s slow progress. So, Taremi has emerged as a target for Fulham.
Meanwhile, Leeds United’s interest in Mehdi Taremi is understandable. The Whites are ready to part ways with Patrick Bamford, with Daniel Farke confirming the Englishman does not feature in his plans for the 2025/26 season. In addition, Mateo Joseph has no future at Leeds United. Taremi is thus an option worth considering for the newly promoted Premier League club, with the West Yorkshire outfit submitting an enquiry for a summer move.
As for West Ham United, Niclas Fullkrug failed to make his mark in his debut season, while Evan Ferguson was a peripheral figure during his loan spell in the second half of the 2024/25 campaign. So, West Ham can do with a new striker this summer, with Taremi a viable target for the East London outfit.
Meanwhile, the 33-year-old Iranian international, who has a whopping 53 goals for his nation, will not cost a bomb, with Inter Milan demanding around €8 million to part ways with him in the summer transfer window. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Taremi.
