Fulham optimistic about keeping Seth Ridgeon amid exit links

Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United may not succeed in their efforts to sign 16-year-old Fulham wonderkid Seth Ridgeon in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by the London Evening Standard, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United are interested in Seth Ridgeon. The Fulham whizid has piqued the attention of several Premier League bigwigs with is exploits in age-group football in England. However, the Cottagers are confident of keeping the 16-year-old midfield sensation at the West London club for the long haul.

Who is Seth Ridgeon?

Seth Ridgeon is the latest promising prospect to rise in prominence in his homeland. The teenage sensation has taken age group football by storm in England with his exploits for Fulham’s youth teams. Meanwhile, his part-Sri Lankan heritage from his mother’s side means he will make history if and when he makes his Premier League bow.

Meanwhile, the 16-year-old has already turned out for Fulham’s under-18 and under-21 sides. Ridgeon’s rapid progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile Premier League clubs. Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United are among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the summer transfer window.

Will Ridgeon leave Fulham soon?

Chelsea’s interest in the English midfield sensation is hardly surprising. The Blues never shy away from dipping their toes in the market for highly-rated prospects, particularly under the current regime. Estevao Willian and Kendry Paez are the latest prodigies to arrive at Stamford Bridge this year. So, Ridgeon has invariably emerged as a target for Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Liverpool’s interest in Seth Ridgeon is understandable. While Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister have been excellent as a partnership in the middle of the park, the Reds are putting plans in place to future-proof their team. So, the Fulham whizkid is a viable target for Liverpool.

As for Manchester United, the Red Devils have a proven track record of grooming highly-rated prospects and turning them into their first-team stars. The last few years have witnessed the advent of Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho, among others. So, it is hardly surprising that Ridgeon is a target for Manchester United. However, Fulham will aim to keep the teenage prodigy at the West London club for the long run.

The Cottagers are now increasingly confident of fending off interest from Premier League bigwigs and keeping the 16-year-old English youth international at the club beyond the summer transfer window. So, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United have hit a brick wall in the battle for his signature.
