Fulham eyeing loan move for Joao Palhinha

Fulham are reportedly interested in bringing 30-year-old Portuguese international Joao Palhinha back to Craven Cottage during the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Give Me Sport, Fulham are looking to re-sign Bayern Munich misfit Joao Palhinha in the summer transfer window, ideally on a season-long loan deal. It remains to be seen if the West London outfit can get the deal done. The 30-year-old is also a target for fellow Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur

Another report by Give Me Sport indicates that Manchester United are also keen on the player. Fulham will hope to win the race for his signature. The Portuguese international midfielder played his best football at Fulham before moving to Germany. Returning to his comfort zone could be ideal and help bring out the best in him.

Fulham are hoping to secure a no-risk transfer by re-signing the player, but it remains unclear whether Bayern Munich are prepared to let him leave on loan. The Portuguese international is not a key player for them, and ideally, they would look to sell him permanently. Recent reports have claimed that he wants to return to London.

Tottenham and Man United could use Palhinha

Meanwhile, Tottenham need more defensive cover in midfield, and the Portuguese international could be the ideal acquisition. The 30-year-old has shown his ability in the Premier League, and he could make an instant impact at Tottenham. Spurs are expected to part ways with Yves Bissouma during the summer, and Palhinha could replace the Mali international in north London.

Manchester United are also monitoring the situation, and they also want a loan deal. The Red Devils signed Manuel Ugarte last summer, but the Uruguayan international is still adapting to English football and has not reached his best level. Manchester United need to invest in another defensive midfielder.

Casemiro is in the twilight of his career, and the Brazilian needs to be moved on. Palhinha could prove to be the ideal signing for Manchester United, helping them improve defensively and giving more freedom to the club’s attacking players. It will be interesting to see where Palhinha ends up this summer.
