Newly promoted Bundesliga club Hamburger SV may look to sign 18-year-old Croatian wonderkid Luka Vuskovic on loan from Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
According to a report by German outlet Hamburger Morgenpost, Luka Vuskovic is the subject of interest from Hamburger SV. The newly promoted Bundesliga club will look to bolster the first-team squad to sustain the challenge of remaining in the German top flight beyond the 2025/26 season. So, 18-year-old Tottenham wonderkid has emerged as a target for der Dinosaurier.
Luka Vuskovic and his young career so far
Luka Vuskovic is the latest highly-rated wonderkid to rise in prominence in his homeland. Born in Split, the Croat spent most of his formative years thus far in his home town, passing through the youth division at Hajduk Split before graduating from the club’s academy.
The 18-year-old spent the 2024/25 season with KVC Westerlo, and he has completed his long-awaited move to Tottenham Hotspur this summer. However, Vuskovic may not be with the North London outfit in the upcoming campaign, with a loan exit on the cards.
Recent reports have linked the Croatian defensive sensation with La Liga giants Real Madrid. However, Los Blancos will unlikely secure Vuskovic’s services in the summer transfer window. Instead, the highly-rated defender may embark on a temporary spell in Germany, with newly promoted Bundesliga outfit Hamburger SV lining up a season-long loan move for the player.
Bundesliga adventure awaits?
Hamburger SV’s interest in Luka Vuskovic is understandable. The former Bundesliga champions are keen on building a squad that can remain in the German top flight beyond the 2025/26 season. So, they have set their sights on the highly-rated Tottenham wonderkid as they aim to bolster their defensive unit in the summer transfer window.
While Vuskovic has emerged as a target for Hamburger SV, they are yet to zero in on the 18-year-old Croat as their top defensive option in the summer transfer window. Nevertheless, moving to the Bundesliga may benefit the teenage sensation if he can secure regular game time in the 2025/26 season.
It is unclear if Tottenham Hotspur will be ready to send Vuskovic on a loan spell with Hamburger SV in the summer transfer window. So, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for the Croatian defensive sensation.
