Leeds United eye Mateo Joseph sale to fund Rodrigo Muniz move

Daniel Farke’s Leeds United plan to use the funds from Mateo Joseph’s sale to finance a move for Fulham’s Rodrigo Muniz.

According to a report from The Sun, Leeds United are keen on acquiring the services of Rodrigo Muniz as Danie Farke looks to build a team that can survive in the English top flight. With Fulham demanding a massive fee for the Brazilian forward, the Yorkshire-based outfit are hoping they could raise some funds by offloading in-demand Mateo Josep.

Muniz has only gone from strength to strength since joining the Cottagers back in 2021. Despite not being a regular starter last season and racking up just over 1,300 minutes in his 36 outings, he finished with 11 goals and two assists.

Leeds United are keen on signing Rodrigo Muniz

While Rodrigo Muniz’s contract runs out in 12 months, Fulham do have the option to extend it by another year. However, it looks like they could cash in on him this summer, amidst interest from newly promoted Leeds United. The Yorkshire want a quality forward to lead the line next season, and they consider the Brazilian attacker to be a perfect fit for their system.

The Cottagers are ready to sell, but they are demanding a massive fee of £50 million and have no intention of offering a discount. Daniel Farke’s team are very keen on having him in their squad; as a result, they are exploring ways to raise funds for his transfer.

Mateo Joseph’s departure could fund Muniz’s move

Leeds United are ready to cash in on Mateo Joseph, who played a key role in their promotion to the top flight. The Spanish youth international was involved in a total of 39 league games and even contributed towards seven goals.

While the 21-year-old does have massive potential, Leeds United are willing to sacrifice him to bring Muniz to the club. Multiple Spanish clubs are pushing for his signature, and the Premier League outfit are hoping that a bidding war can help them raise close to £10 million.

While Real Betis consider the price tag to sell Mateo Joseph to be on the higher side, Celta Vigo could certainly meet their demands, given they have the funds to play with following Fer Lopez’s departure to Wolves.
