Chelsea prepared to make offer to sign Eberechi Eze, in talks with his agents

Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing 27-year-old Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze during the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Caught Offside, Chelsea are currently in talks with the agents of Eberechi Eze regarding a summer move, and they are prepared to submit an official offer for the player. Arsenal are interested in the player as well, and it will be interesting to see which of the two London clubs can get the deal done.

The 27-year-old has been outstanding for Crystal Palace last season, and he helped them win the FA Cup. The Englishman had 25 goal contributions in all competitions, and he could prove to be an excellent addition for Chelsea and Arsenal.

The England international is capable of operating as a left-sided attacker as well as a central attacking midfielder. His versatility will be an added bonus, thus explaining the interest from Chelsea.

Chelsea need more creativity and goals from the wide areas, and the 27-year-old seems like the ideal fit. He will add more cutting edge in the final third. Chelsea will be able to offer him UEFA Champions League football, and the player could be tempted to join them.

Similarly, Arsenal need more competition for places on the flanks. The Englishman could compete with Gabriel Martinelli for the starting spot. The Brazilian international was underwhelming last season, and Arsenal need better players if they want to fight for major trophies.

Eze should look to join Arsenal

Arsenal are one of the biggest clubs in the country, and they have been fighting for the Premier League title consistently. The Crystal Palace talisman might feel that he could make a defining impact and help them win a major trophy next season.

Crystal Palace will not want to lose a key player like him easily, and he will cost a substantial amount of money. It remains to be seen where he ends up eventually. Eze is at the peak of his career, and this is the right time for him to move to an elite club, where he can win major trophies. Arsenal would be the ideal destination for him, and recent reports have suggested he wants the move.
