Manchester United have made a third offer for Bryan Mbeumo, with the hope that Brentford will accept it this time around.
According to The Standard, Manchester United have made a third offer for Bryan Mbeumo in the region of £70 million, including add-ons. There is hope that Brentford will accept this proposal as it seemingly reaches close to their demands for the Cameroonian international.
The Bryan Mbeumo saga has rumbled on ever since the opening days of the transfer window. Back then, the French-born winger indicated that he wants a move to Manchester United over other suitors, with the Red Devils making two separate offers to test Brentford’s resolve.
The first proposal amounted to £45 million in fixed fees with a further £10 million in add-ons, which was swiftly rejected by Brentford. The second one was slightly better with £55 million plus £7.5 million, which again had the same response from the Bees.
Manchester United have seemed patient enough to wait for a long time before making a third official bid. The new proposal has been sent to Brentford, amounting to £65 million in fixed fees with a further £5 million in add-ons.
The wider expectations point towards Brentford accepting this latest proposal. However, the London outfit are yet to respond with an answer, something that will come out shortly. The report also states that should Brentford sells Mbeumo, they will block Newcastle United-linked Yoane Wissa’s exit from the club this summer.
Manchester United planning more signings
Manchester United will sincerely hope that Brentford accept their latest proposal, as they are keen to move ahead and plan towards further additions. Ruben Amorim might need a few more names through the door this summer to improve the squad.
A striker is of the essence at the moment, and that is an area the club have failed with many names already in this window. A new midfielder is also on the agenda, as Amorim wants more legs to manage games, while a new left-back as well as a goalkeeper might be on his wishlist before the deadline.
