Everton will reportedly look to sign 30-year-old Czech midfielder Tomas Soucek from West Ham United in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by TEAMtalk, Tomas Soucek is the subject of interest from Everton. The Toffees are keen on reinforcing their first-team squad by signing a dynamic midfielder in the summer transfer window. So, the 30-year-old West Ham United veteran has emerged as a target for the Merseyside outfit, with David Moyes keen on reuniting with him.
The Toffees have already submitted an enquiry over a possible move in the summer transfer window. In addition, Everton will soon make a proposal to secure Soucek’s services, and they will offer around £12 million to sign him from West Ham United.
Tomas Soucek and his successful West Ham United journey
Tomas Soucek has established himself as a pivotal figure for West Ham United since arriving from Slavia Praha. The East London club initially signed the 30-year-old midfielder on loan in January 2020 before completing a permanent move in the subsequent summer transfer window.
The Czechia international has made his mark for West Ham United due to his ability to chip in with strikes in the final third. Soucek contributed to 54 goals in nearly 250 appearances thus far for West Ham, finding the back of the net 41 times and providing 13 assists. However, the long-serving midfielder may depart from the London Stadium in the summer transfer window, with Everton vying for his signature.
Move across the Premier League on the cards?
Everton’s interest in Tomas Soucek is understandable. The Toffees are scouring the market for a midfielder after parting ways with Abdoulaye Doucoure as a free agent this summer. In addition, Idrissa Gueye is on the wrong side of 30 and in the twilight of his career.
Several candidates, including Douglas Luiz, have emerged on Everton’s radar, with Soucek also a viable target. David Moyes is keen on reuniting with his former West Ham charge at the Merseyside club. Meanwhile, the Hammers are open to listening to offers to sell him, even though they are not actively looking to part ways with him.
Everton will soon submit a bid worth £12 million to sign the 30-year-old Czech midfielder. However, it is unclear if an offer of that sum will be enough to convince West Ham to part ways with Soucek in the summer transfer window.
