Anton Stach expected to join Leeds United

Chelsea eyeing Dario Essugo swoop, Leeds United also keen.

The decision-makers at Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim reportedly believe 26-year-old German international Anton Stach will join Leeds United in the summer transfer window.

According to an update by reputed German journalist Florian Plettenberg, Anton Stach is the subject of interest from Leeds United. The Whites are keen on reinforcing their first-team squad by signing a holding midfielder in the summer transfer window. So, the 26-year-old TSG Hoffenheim midfielder has emerged as a target for the newly promoted Premier League club.

The 2024/25 EFL Championship winners and Stach already have an agreement on personal terms, with the West Yorkshire outfit holding talks with TSG Hoffenheim. Meanwhile, the decision-makers at the Bundesliga club expected Leeds United to sign Stach in the summer transfer window, with the player costing over €20 million.

Anton Stach and his Hoffenheim spell so far

Anton Stach has made massive strides since joining TSG Hoffenheim from FSV Mainz 05 in September 2023. The 26-year-old has only missed two games when fit and available to represent the Bundesliga club, turning out 71 times thus far while chipping in with four goals and six assists.

Meanwhile, the German midfielder’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe. A move to the Premier League may be on the cards for Stach, with Leeds United among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the summer transfer window.

From the Bundesliga to the Premier League soon?

Leeds United’s interest in Anton Stach is understandable. The Whites are scouring the market for a midfielder this summer, even though Ao Tanaka and Ilia Gruev were instrumental in their EFL Championship title triumph last season. That has led Leeds United to secure an agreement to sign Sean Longstaff from Newcastle United.

However, the 2024/25 EFL Championship winners are not done yet, and they are closing in on signing Stach from TSG Hoffenheim. Personal terms are not an issue, with the former FSV Mainz 05 midfielder keen on joining Leeds United in the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, the decision-makers at the Bundesliga club believe he will move to Elland Road this summer.

While the 26-year-old German international is also a target for VfB Stuttgart, Leeds United may complete a deal over €20 million to secure his services. So, it will be interesting to see if Stach trades the Bundesliga club for the Premier League in the summer transfer window.
