Manchester United outcast Marcus Rashford is willing to wait for Barcelona, who have asked the forward to remain patient.
Marcus Rashford appears to have no future at Manchester United, with both the player and the club accepting that a transfer this summer would be in the best interest of all parties involved. While the Red Devils are pushing hard to cash in on the English international, he seems to have other plans.
According to a report from Give Me Sport, Rashford is ready to depart from Old Trafford, but he is prepared to wait for a move to Barcelona, even though the Catalan giants have not given assurance that they would meet United’s demands.
Marcus Rashford’s departure is a certainty
Ruben Amorim has no intentions of reintegrating Rashford into his team despite the successful loan spell at Aston Villa in the second half of last season. With the Englishman earning a massive £300,000-a-week wages, Manchester United want him off their wage bill as quickly as possible. More importantly, the funds raised from his departure could help them add more quality to their attack.
With Manchester United handing the No.10 shirt to Matheus Cunha, the doors for Marcus Rashford is certainly shut. With both the player and the club on the same page with regards to his future, he has pinpointed that he wants to move to Barcelona.
The Catalan giants are a dream club for him, and he is ready to do everything in their power to make it happen. While he is willing to wait for the Spanish club, any move won’t be that straightforward as Manchester United will hold out on the £40 million asking price.
They won’t entertain any loan offers or a lower fee as they are aware that Barcelona were on the verge of triggering Nico Williams’s £50 million release clause before the move collapsed, which means they have the funds to pay for the English international as well.
Barcelona want Rashford to be patient
Meanwhile, another report from Sport via Sport Witness has suggested that Barcelona want the 27-year-old to remain patient. The Catalan giants are very attentive to Marcus Rashford’s situation at Old Trafford.
With a potential transfer for Luis Diaz very complicated, they could certainly make a move to sign Rashford, as strengthening the left flank is a top priority for them. Rashford has a massive chance of securing his dream move to Barcelona as the club’s sporting leaders have given the green light to the move.
But the Blaugrana do not want to rush into any deal and are taking their time, hoping that Manchester United will lower their demands. The reigning La Liga champions have asked the English international to be patient, and the report suggests he knows how to play his cards; things can certainly go in Rashford’s favour.
