Jonathan David prioritising Manchester United move, also open to Barcelona switch

Manchester United are interested in signing Jonathan David, and they have been handed a major boost in their pursuit of the player.

Jonathan David is reportedly keen on joining Manchester United this summer, but he would be open to joining Barcelona as well. It remains to be seen which of the two teams can get the deal done. According to a report by Corriere dello Sport via Sport Witness, he would consider joining PSG as well.

The striker will be a free agent soon, and he could prove to be a superb acquisition for Manchester United and Barcelona. Manchester United are in desperate need of a quality striker who can score goals consistently. Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund have been underwhelming, and they need to be replaced.

On the other hand, Barcelona need to start finding a long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski. The Canadian international has 37 goal contributions this past season, and he would be an excellent acquisition for both clubs, especially on a free transfer.

The 25-year-old striker has been outstanding for LOSC Lille, and he has the ability to shine in the Premier League as well as La Liga. Whoever ends up signing him on a free transfer could have a tremendous asset.

Jonathan David is entering the peak years of his career, and he will want to compete at the highest level and win major trophies. Manchester United and Barcelona are among the biggest clubs in the world, and they could provide him with the platform he needs.

Manchester United need top players to bounce back

Manchester United had a disastrous 2024/25 Premier League campaign, and they will look to bounce back strongly. Signing a reliable centre-forward will be a priority for them. Recent reports have also linked the Red Devils with other strikers, including Viktor Gyokeres.

It will be interesting to see how Manchester United convince the player to join them instead of Barcelona. They cannot afford him Champions League football, but they might be able to offer him a more lucrative wage compared to the Spanish club. Time will tell whether David is willing to give up Champions League football for the 2025/26 season to join Manchester United.
