Brentford are hoping that interest from Arsenal and Manchester United could spark a bidding war for Bryan Mbeumo, potentially driving up his price tag.
According to a report from Football Insider, Brentford are aware that it will be difficult to keep hold of Bryan Mbeumo, and they are looking to initiate a bidding war for his signature in an attempt to make the most of his potential departure.
While the Cameroonian international seems keen on joining Manchester United, Arsenal are also interested in signing him. The Bees are hoping the two English giants end up locking horns for his services this summer, as it could push his price tag up.
Mbeumo has been a part of the Brentford setup since 2019 and he has gone from strength to strength over the years. He has established himself as a proven Premier League forward since getting promoted to the top flight with the Bees back in 2021.
The 25-year-old had an impressive 2024/25 campaign as he contributed towards 20 goals and eight assists in his 38 league outings. His performances haven’t gone unnoticed and there is no shortage of interest in him.
His current deal with Thomas Frank’s team runs until 2026. While the Bees have the option of extending it for another 12 months, they are aware that they will struggle to keep hold of him for long amidst interest from giants Manchester United and Arsenal.
United & Arsenal could battle for Mbeumo
The Red Devils are looking to undergo a massive rebuild this summer and reinforcing the attack is one of their priorities. They are keen on signing the Brentford star who can feature on the right flank as well as up top. Ruben Amorim sees him as an ideal option to bolster the flanks.
The player has already made it clear that he prefers moving to Old Trafford but Brentford are looking to initiate a bidding war as it will help shoot up his price tag. While United are now expected to open talks with the Bees, Arsenal are also interested in the 25-year-old.
The Gunners want to bolster their attack as Mikel Arteta looks to bring an end to their wait for a major title. Mbeumo is one of the names on their wishlist and Brentford are hoping that if the Gunners square up against United for his services, it could help them earn a bigger fee from his potential sale.
