Ben Davies and Sergio Reguilon are set to leave Tottenham at the end of their contracts as Spurs prepare for a tricky summer window.
According to a report by Football Insider, Ben Davies and Sergio Reguilon are in line to leave Tottenham in the summer. The left-sided duo are on expiring contracts, with the club showing no intention to keep hold of those defenders, as Spurs are set for a tricky summer ahead.
Tottenham are gearing up for a trucky summer window ahead, as there are some big decisions on Daniel Levy’s hands. The Spurs supremo has already made up his mind over left-sided duo Ben Davies and Sergio Reguilon, with the defensive pair not seen as a part of their plans going forward.
Reguilon has barely played this season despite the big defensive injury crisis at the club, which spanned over a significant period this season. The Spaniard has only made five appearances totalling 242 minutes this campaign, and a move back to Sevilla could be on the cards for the left-back.
Real Sociedad are also reportedly interested in Reguilon, and a move back to Spain seems like a big option for the out-of-favour full-back. As for Davies, he has been extensively used under Ange Postecoglou during the aforementioned defensive injury crisis this season.
Davies has been at the club for a long time now, and while he has not been sensational with his performances, the left-sided defender has been used regularly when there are some problems with injuries or suspensions. He too is coming to the end of his deal at the club as a departure seems imminent, although there is no news on where he might join next.
Tottenham are bracing for a tricky summer
Not only will Daniel Levy have to make a big decision on Postcoglou’s future, but he may have to fight off some clubs for their existing performers. Cristian Romero might seek an exit from the club amid rumours of a move to Spain, and there might be a few others angling moves out of Tottenham.
Hence, winning the UEFA Europa League and their subsequent qualification into next season’s UEFA Champions League is very important for Tottenham in their bid to keep hold of key stars. Without it, Spurs are staring at a tricky summer window, that could see a notable few stars angle an exit.
