Tottenham working on offloading Yves Bissouma

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to offload their defensive midfielder Yves Bissouma as he is not a part of their plans moving ahead.

Tottenham are going through one of their most difficult seasons in recent past. They could end up finishing in the bottom five of the Premier League and are almost certain to undergo a massive overhaul in the summer.

While Daniel Levy will certainly look to reinforce the squad, Spurs will also be parting ways with players who are no longer an important part of their plans. According to a report from Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, the North London club are ready to sanction the departure of Yves Bissouma.

The 28-year-old midfielder’s consistent performances for Brighton had put him on the radar of Tottenham, who paid £25 million plus add-ons to sign him in the summer of 2022. While Yves Bissouma was a key part of their plans in the initial years, Bissouma is more of a squad player now, and his future is uncertain.

Bissouma’s time at Tottenham is coming to an end

While Yves Bissouma has been involved in 37 matches, he has been on the pitch for just over 2,000 minutes, and the majority of those have come because of an injury crisis at the club. He is unlikely to get a lot of game time next season as Spurs will look to bring in players who can help them take the next step.

With the club looking to sign reinforcements in midfield, they are ready to cash in on Bissouma, whose contract runs out in the summer of 2026. Since he will only have a year left on his deal in the summer, it could be their final opportunity to recoup a part of what they had invested to bring him to North London.

Tottenham are actively working to find the Mali international a new club and the report suggests there is interest in his services from the Middle East, Spain as well as Italy. It is almost certain that the 28-year-old will be on the move this summer as he is not in their plans and they have not even considered handing him a new deal. Recent reports have also linked him with Aston Villa.
