Everton, West Ham United in transfer tussle to sign Nicolo Savona

Everton and West Ham United are reportedly interested in signing 22-year-old Italian full-back prospect Nicolo Savona from Juventus in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Italian outlet Tutto Juve, Nicolo Savona is the subject of interest from four clubs heading into the summer transfer window. Everton and West Ham United are among the prospective suitors vying for the signature of the Juventus prospect, with the Serie A giants demanding around €20-25 million to part ways with the Italian whizkid.

Who is Nicolo Savona?

Nicolo Savona has established himself as one of the best young prospects in Serie A since breaking into the first-team squad at Juventus. A native of Aosta, the youngster spent most of his formative years with the Bianconeri after starting his youth career with Aygreville.

The 22-year-old made his first-team bow for Juventus at the onset of the 2024/25 season and has come leaps and bounds in his debut season. Savona has turned out nearly 50 times thus far for the Bianconeri while chipping in with two goals and one assist.

Meanwhile, Savona’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs across Europe. Premier League outfits, in particular, are keen on signing the Italian full-back prospect, with Everton and West Ham United among the prospective suitors vying for his signature heading into the summer transfer window.

Premier League move on the horizon?

Everton’s interest in Nicolo Savona is understandable. The Toffees are scouring the market for a right-back heading into the summer transfer window due to the advancing age of Ashley Young and club captain Seamus Coleman. In addition, Nathan Patterson has struggled with fitness issues throughout his spell with Everton.

As for West Ham United, it is unclear why the East London club might want a new right-back, considering Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been a solid addition to the first-team squad this season. Nevertheless, Savona is a target for West Ham, and the Hammers should have the funds to afford Juventus’s asking price of €20-25 million.

However, Everton and West Ham face stiff competition from Bayer Leverkusen and Bournemouth, with the former already making some moves to secure his services. So, it will be interesting to see where the 22-year-old Italian full-back plies his trade next season.
