Manchester United ready to cash in on Rasmus Hojlund

Manchester United could cash in on underperforming striker Rasmus Hojlund in the summer amid links over a return to Serie A.

According to Football Insider, Manchester United could make their decision to sell underperforming striker Rasmus Hojlund in the summer. The Danish frontman has emerging interest from Serie A clubs, as the Red Devils could cut their losses on the forward and even sell him for a bargain price.

The Rasmus Hojlund project has not worked at Manchester United, as he has had another underwhelming season since his reported £72 million move back in 2023. The Danish forward has failed to find his ground this term, while new manager Ruben EMorim has reportedly conceded defeat in getting the best out of his attacker.

Manchester United could be ready to sell Hojlund in the summer, with the club even willing to lower their asking price. There’s plenty of interest emerging from Italy, where Hojlund was previously employed by Atalanta before his move to Old Trafford. Juventus are interested, although Manchester United’s potential asking price of £50 million is not suitable for them.

The Bianconeri are looking to sign a replacement striker for Dusan Vlahovic, who could depart if he fails to agree fresh terms with the club. Napoli are also interested and have been since the January market when they were potentially thinking about signing the highly-rated prospect from Manchester United.

Hojlund’s agents are reportedly working on a return to Serie A, which could be in line with what the report states. The Dane may not have a future at Manchester United, although the club may have to further lower their current £50 million asking price to improve their chases of offloading the striker in the next window.

Manchester United looking for a new striker

Manchester United are actively planning on landing a new striker, as their preference is still of the younger variety. However, they are not opposed to landing someone with experience to allow them success in the short to medium term, which has seen the Red Devils linked with Patrik Schick recently.

Manchester United are frontrunners for Liam Delap, with the striker available for a release clause worth 30 million as Ipswich Town are bound for the Championship next season. Either way, they are hoping to offload Hojlund to help fund the move for a new striker in the summer.
