Everton and Crystal Palace are ready to rival Tottenham in the chase for PSG’s unwanted defender Milan Skriniar in the summer.
According to Caught Offside, Tottenham face competition from English rivals Crystal Palace and Everton in the hunt for Milan Skriniar. The Premier League sides are eager to lure the PSG misfit to England, as Spurs are angling for a move for the Slovakian to potentially replace Cristian Romero.
Milan Skriniar has made a big mark at Fenerbahce since his loan move in the January window after being frozen out at PSG. He only started four times in the league for the Parisians this season, and he knows that Luis Enrique does not count him as part of the plans going forward.
Fenerbahce are already making efforts to sign him permanently, although they will have to make a big effort to meet PSG’s €20 million asking price. The Slovakian has been one of the standout stars under Jose Mourinho since moving to Turkey and is satisfied with life on the sporting as well as the personal side of things.
However, the prospect of moving to the Premier League at this stage of his career would be a bit tempting for the 30-year-old. Crystal Palace and Everton are the latest teams to enter the race for the Slovakian, with either of those teams looking at a new centre-back. Collectively the duo have been linked with many names including Manchester United star Victor Lindelof.
Everton and Crystal Palace are also linked with RC Lens star Facundo Medina, which is a clear indication they are looking for a strong centre-back ahead of next season. In the chase for Skriniar, the Premier League duo are not alone, as Tottenham are the biggest threat in the hunt.
Tottenham front runners for Milan Skriniar
Tottenham are interested in signing Skriniar as they view him as a replacement for Cristian Romero. The latter could leave the club amid links with Spanish giants Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid over the recent period, as the addition of the PSG misfit would make some sense to replace the Argentine.
Tottenham, in turn, must convince Skriniar considering there’s a possibility they will not play in any European competition next summer. Moreover, there’s the looming threat of Fenerbahce swooping in for the Slovakian defender, as he’s destined to leave PSG one way or another next summer.
