Liverpool set asking price for Luis Diaz

Liverpool could sell Luis Diaz if they can get a fee of £60 million or more, with the Colombian linked to Barcelona and Saudi Arabia.

According to Football Insider, Liverpool will be open to selling Luis Diaz for a fee of £60 million or more in the upcoming summer window. The Colombian winger’s contract ends in 2027, with Barcelona and Al-Nassr showing an interest, as the Merseysiders may not offer him a new deal.

Luis Diaz has had his share of bad performances this season, and yet he remains one of Arne Slot’s key players. Having played 45 times this season across all competitions, the Colombian has scored 15 times, and while he is one of the first names on the teamsheet every week, there’s a big chance of him leaving the club in the summer.

Diaz will enter the final two years of his deal at Liverpool, as reports have stated there has been no talks over a new contract. There’s a big possibility of the club cashing in on the winger this summer, as they feel a deal could be done for the right price.

Liverpool are eager to consider offers of around £60 million or more in the summer, as there’s some interest from clubs outside of interest. Recently Al-Nassr were linked with Diaz, as the Saudi Pro League side may be capable of paying what the Merseysiders want to sell the Colombian winger.

Barcelona have held an interest for some time now, although given their financial issues, there are doubts whether the Catalans will be ready to pay as high as £60 million for the Colombian. The 28-year-old first-team star could look at a different route to further his career, as Arne Slot is already planning major changes to his attacking setup.

Arne Slot planning on attacking changes

Arne Slot did not make many transfer moves in the two windows he has experienced since taking over at Liverpool last summer. Federico Chiesa was the only outfield player he signed during his spell so far, as the Dutch manager plans on major changes to his attacking setup. He has already decided to sell Darwin Nunez, and now with Diaz’s position coming under doubt, Liverpool have been linked with names like Xavi Simons.

Arne Slot could also consider bringing a player from former side Feyenoord as Liverpool are linked with Igor Paixao. All those left-winger names are probably an indication of Liverpool’s openness to sell Diaz, although it remains to be seen which team he wants to join, as there might be a case that he will want to play in Spain and not Saudi Arabia at this stage of his career.
