A quartet of Premier League clubs are interested in signing RC Lens defender Facundo Medina despite signing a new contract only days ago.
According to Caught Offside, Facundo Medina is attracting big interest from at least a quartet of Premier League sides ahead of the summer. The RC Lens defender could be sold in the summer to solve some of their financial issues despite the Argentine only signing an extension days ago.
Facundo Medina exemplifies a group of players who took barely any time to adapt to a new continent. Having arrived on European shores with RC Lens back in 2020, the Argentine defender has been a mainstay in the Ligue 1 side since, although his future could be away from the French side.
The Argentine only agreed on a new deal a few days ago, although there’s a big indication that this renewal was merely a formality as the new agreement only lasts until 2028. RC Lens faces financial issues, as they could eye some big sales in the summer as a few names could depart including Medina.
RC Lens are expected to demand at least €30-35 million for the Argentine defender, which could suit some of the suitors. The 25-year-old will enter the peak of his career, and he might wish for a switch to a bigger club, particularly in the Premier League as a quartet of sides are keen.

Aston Villa are interested in Medina as Unai Emery might want a left-footed centre-back in his ranks to improve competition for places. Incidentally, he could be a replacement for long-serving defender Tyrone Mings, as the €30-35 million-rated Argentine defender could compete for a place with Pau Torres.
Meanwhile, Aston Villa are not alone in the chase, with Crystal Palace, Everton and Newcastle United are all interested in the defender. Either of those teams will be seen as a big upgrade by Medina compared to his current club RC Lens.
The €30-35 million-rated Argentine defender has plenty of experience playing in Europe, as he will complete five years on the continent. That should be enough for many Premier League clubs to consider his signing, although there will be some negotiations on the price point.
