Tottenham and Newcastle United are both interested in acquiring the services of AC Milan midfield star Yunus Musah.
According to a report from Milanlive.it, Yunus Musah’s departure from AC Milan this summer looks almost certain, with Newcastle and Tottenham emerging as potential destinations, as both clubs are interested in his services.
While things didn’t work out for Musah at Arsenal, he made a name for himself at Valencia before joining the Italian giants in the summer of 2023. On the back of his performances in Sain, Milan decided to invest in the American midfielder with an eye on the future.
Unfortunately, the move hasn’t worked out, even though he has featured in a total of 76 matches over the last two seasons. Not only has the 22-year-old failed to score even once, but his performances have also received a lot of criticism of late.
Musah’s struggles at AC Milan
His error played a big part in Fiorentina’s first goal in their last outing. He was far from his best, and it resulted in him being substituted in the 23rd minute of the game. This was the second time he was taken off by Sergio Conceicao within the first half without any injury concerns.
He was earlier withdrawn in the 37th minute in a game against Lazio. On both occasions, he was loudly booed by San Siro. While he has shown a lot of promise as an athlete, he has been able to impress as a player in the centre of the park.
The board would still love to back the 22-year-old, but it seems his time at Milan is coming to an end. Given how things have panned out for the American international in recent months under Conceicao, a departure will be in the best interest of both parties.
Musah could return to England
With Premier League clubs interested in his signature, Milan would hope to recoup a large part of the money they had invested to sign him. Tottenham and Newcastle are two clubs that are interested in his signature.
The North London club lack depth in the centre of the park, and Ange Postecoglou wants to address that issue this summer. Spurs have prioritised signing young stars, and Musah certainly fits the bill. Despite his recent performances, they are hoping a return to England could help him get things back on track.
The Magpies have taken giant strides in recent years, and they are looking at the summer window as an opportunity to further bolster their squad. Eddie Howe wants more competition in the centre of the park, and he would love to have the 22-year-old in his squad as he can feature in a variety of roles.
