Fulham keen on keeping Rodrigo Muniz amid Chelsea, Tottenham links

Fulham will reportedly look to keep 23-year-old Brazilian striker Rodrigo Muniz at Craven Cottage beyond the summer amid his links with Chelsea and Tottenham.

According to a report by Give Me Sport, Rodrigo Muniz is the subject of interest from Tottenham and Chelsea. The two London giants are scouring the market for a striker heading into the summer transfer window and have set their sights on the Fulham striker. However, the Cottagers have issued a hands-off warning to the Brazilian attacker’s suitors as they want to keep him at Craven Cottage.

Rodrigo Muniz and his career so far

Rodrigo Muniz has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Fulham from Flamengo in August 2021. A native of São Domingos do Prata, the South American attacker spent his formative years in Brazil and graduated from the youth division at Flamengo.

A loan spell with Middlesbrough in the 2022/23 season helped the youngster’s fortunes before he established a foothold at Fulham. The 23-year-old was exceptional in the 2023/24 campaign but has been in and out of the starting lineup this term, with Raul Jimenez sharing game time with him.

Nevertheless, Muniz has enjoyed a reasonably productive campaign with Fulham, contributing to 13 goals in only 1,298 minutes of game time across 35 appearances in all competitions, finding the back of the net 11 times and providing two assists. Meanwhile, the Brazilian striker’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs, including Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.

Move across London on the cards?

Tottenham Hotspur had been keen on signing Rodrigo Muniz last summer before Fulham decided to keep him at Craven Cottage. The continued interest is perplexing, considering the North London outfit broke the bank to sign Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth less than 12 months ago.

Nevertheless, several strikers, including Liam Delap, have emerged on Tottenham’s radar, with Muniz also a viable target. As for Chelsea, Enzo Maresca wants more firepower from his offensive unit, even though Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu have been impressive. So, the Fulham striker is an option worth considering for Chelsea. However, the Cottagers do not want to part ways with him.

They have issued a hands-off warning to Muniz’s suitors heading into the summer transfer window. So, Chelsea and Tottenham must look elsewhere for a striker unless the 23-year-old Brazilian striker forces the issue by handing in a transfer request.
