Crystal Palace, West Ham United in transfer tussle to sign Sem Steijn

Crystal Palace and West Ham are among a host of Premier League sides vying to sign FC Twente’s attacking midfield sensation Sen Steijn.

According to TBR, Sem Steijn is generating a lot of attention from the Premier League as West Ham and Crystal Palace are among five teams in England vying for the attacking midfielder. The FC Twente star is coming at the back of a sensational season with 26 goals and assists, thus making him one of the sought-after options for many teams to consider.

FC Twente are bracing for offers from some of the teams from other leagues for Sem Steijn. The attacking midfielder has garnered 26 goals and assists across all competitions for the Dutchman, with at least five teams making their interest known in the talent.

The 23-year-old’s performances have not helped FC Twente climb up into European slots, which could hamper their chances of keeping him beyond the summer. At least five Premier League teams are vying for his signature, with West Ham and Crystal Palace among those interested.

Starting with Palce, they could potentially lose Eberechi Eze in the summer, with a host of top Premier League sides vying for his signature. Steijn could be a solid option for the Eagles to bring in as Eze’s replacement in the midfielder, although his price tag has not been made clear.

Meanwhile, West Ham are weighing up the future of Lucas Paqueta owing to his case with betting allegations. Irrespective of what transpires, the Brazilian might have a future away from the club, either by way of a ban or by transfer, as Pep Guardiola is still interested in signing him.

West Ham, Crystal Palace face Sem Steijn competition

The London duo are not alone in the race for the 26-goal Eredivisie midfielder, as Brighton, Bournemouth and Wolves are also vying for his signature. The idea here for the midfielder is to make a move out of the Netherlands and into the Premier League in some capacity.

Either of those five clubs will suit his talents, although he might eventually have a choice. There’s the distinct possibility of a bigger club entering into the conversation, although for now, those five clubs will be hoping that’s not the case.
