Newcastle United initiate contact over Dango Ouattara move

Newcastle United have reportedly initiated contact over a possible summer move for 23-year-old Bournemouth winger Dango Ouattara.

According to a report by Africa Foot, Dango Ouattara is the subject of interest from Newcastle United. The Magpies are scouring the market for a wide attacker heading into the summer transfer window and have established contact over a move for the Bournemouth winger. Meanwhile, the ambitious Premier League club will demand €40 million for the 23-year-old, with Aston Villa also keen on signing him.

How has Dango Ouattara fared at AFC Bournemouth?

Dango Ouattara has gone from strength to strength since joining Bournemouth from FC Lorient in January 2023. The Burkinabe winger has not been an undisputed first-choice starter for the Premier League club. However, he has been an asset for the ambitious Premier League club due to his versatility.

The 23-year-old has played his part amid Bournemouth’s aspirations to secure European qualification this season. Ouattara has contributed to 13 goals in 30 appearances across all competitions by finding the back of the net nine times and providing four assists.

Meanwhile, the Burkina Faso international has piqued the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe with his exploits for Bournemouth. AC Milan and Napoli are keen on signing the versatile Bournemouth star, with Aston Villa and Newcastle United also among the prospective suitors vying for his signature heading into the summer transfer window.

What next?

Aston Villa’s interest in Dango Ouattara is understandable. While Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio have been exceptional during their short-term loan spells with the West Midlands club, it is unclear if they will seal permanent moves to Villa Park. So, several candidates, including Noni Madueke, are on Aston Villa’s radar, with Ouattara also a viable target.

As for Newcastle United, Miguel Almiron’s spell with the Premier League club ended in the winter transfer window, with the Paraguayan international rejoining Atlanta United. So, the Magpies need a replacement, with Ouattara emerging as a target. Newcastle United have contacted the Burkinabe winger and Bournemouth over a possible summer move.

Meanwhile, the Cherries want around €40 million to part ways with Ouattara in the summer transfer window. It will be interesting to see if Aston Villa, Newcastle United, AC Milan, and Napoli are ready to cough up €40 million to sign the 23-year-old Burkina Faso international.
