Georges Mikautadze open to West Ham United move

Georges Mikautadze is reportedly open to the idea of joining a Premier League side in the summer, with West Ham United a big option for the Lyon star.

According to Caught Offside, Georges Mikautadze could be heading to the Premier League in the summer as the forward is open to the idea of a switch to England. By that extension, West Ham could be an option for the Lyon star, while Crystal Palace are also keen on the attacker.

West Ham United are expected to make a move for a top-draw striker, as Graham Potter wants a solid enough option to lead the line. The idea for the Hammers would be to keep hold of their top stars like Mohammed Kudus as well as add a new No.9 to make the team a formidable force ahead of the new campaign.

Evan Ferguson remains an option although his loan move so far has been underwhelming for large parts since his arrival in January. The Hammers are looking for a new option in the position and could widen their search as the summer window opens, with Lyon star Georges Mikautadze one of those being considered.

West Ham also had Jonathan David on their list, although they are unlikely to make a move given the Canadian may have far more significant suitors ahead of a Bosman move in the summer. They have also watched Turkish talents Semih Kiscilcoy and Baris Alper Yilmaz, and now Georges Mikautadze appears to be a good option for them to think about.

West Ham are indeed interested in Mikautadze, who has 33 goals and assists across all competitions for club and country this season. It’s a considerable return, as Lyon might consider big offers coming their way in the close season.

Georges Mikautadze open to Premier League move

Mikautadze is reportedly open to playing in the Premier League, which, by extension does give West Ham enough hope to consider approaching the forward. His numbers are impressive enough for them to think about, although they could face competition from the likes of Everton and more importantly Crystal Palace.

Palace are also potentially looking at a new centre-forward, if Jean-Philippe Mateta ends up leaving the club. The idea of having him would boost Oliver Glasner’s options, although West Ham might have a bigger appeal for the striker ahead of the summer.
