Everton rival Bayern Munich in Nick Woltemade chase

Everton will compete with Bayern Munich to sign 23-year-old German attacker Nick Woltemade from Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by German outlet Sport Bild, Nick Woltemade is the subject of interest from Everton. The VfB Stuttgart attacker is also a target for Bayern Munich and Brighton & Hove Albion. Meanwhile, the Bundesliga club will demand around €40 million to part ways with the German attacking prospect in the summer transfer window.

Who is Nick Woltemade?

Nick Woltemade has established himself as one of the best young attacking prospects in the Bundesliga since joining VfB Stuttgart from Werder Bremen last summer. A native of Bremen, the youngster spent his formative years in his hometown, starting his youth career at TS Woltmershausen before graduating from the youth division at Werder Bremen.

The 23-year-old has come leaps and bounds this season, contributing to 15 goals in 24 outings across all competitions by finding the back of the net 12 times and providing three assists. Meanwhile, Woltemade’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe.

Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are keen on signing the former German under-21 international from VfB Stuttgart in the summer transfer window. However, Die Roten will face stiff competition from Everton for Woltemade’s signature in the coming months. Meanwhile, Stuttgart will demand around €40 million to part ways with him.

A man in demand

Bayern Munich’s interest in Nick Woltemade is understandable. While Jamal Musiala has been a revelation since breaking into the first-team squad, Thomas Muller faces an uncertain future at the Allianz Arena after entering the twilight of his illustrious career. So, Bayern Munich can do with a central attacker, with the VfB Stuttgart forward emerging as a viable target.

As for Everton, Abdoulaye Doucoure has entered the final months of his contract and might depart from Goodison Park as a free agent in the summer transfer window. So, Woltemade is an option worth considering for the Merseyside outfit.

Meanwhile, Brighton & Hove Albion are also keen on signing the 23-year-old German attacker. So, it will be interesting to see if Stuttgart can keep the youngster or if suitors will meet the Bundesliga club’s asking price of €40 million.
