Daniel Levy is reportedly working to get Tyler Dibling to Tottenham in the summer as the Manchester United-linked attacker is ready to leave Southampton.
According to Give Me Sport, Daniel Levy is looking to steal the march on rivals in the race for Tyler Dibling. The Tottenham chairman is working in the background to get the Southampton star to north London while facing big competition from the likes of Manchester United for the 19-year-old.
Southampton are only waiting for mathematical confirmation to get relegated as a return to the Championship seems inevitable. The Saints have had a dreadful season, with Tyler Dibling one of the rare bright spots in their otherwise dismal campaign.
Southampton recently placed a £100 million asking price on the winger, which may seem a bit absurd given they could come under pressure to sell the attacker. Yet, the Saints are thought to be adamant over their demands, although clubs may find a way to work around that and sign Dibling for a much lower fee.
The report states that an offer of more than £50 million might do the trick, as Tottenham are considered the front-runner in the chase. They are not alone in the running as there are a lot of other clubs interested in the 19-year-old including Manchester United, who have watched the winger in action.
The Red Devils may consider a move although much will depend on the reduced asking price and their ability to raise funds. Hence, Tottenham may have the window of opportunity to tie up a deal early on, with Dibling thought to be open to signing for Spurs.
Daniel Levy working to sign Dibling
Tottenham Chairman Daniel Levy is reportedly working to sign Dibling for the club and steal a march on their rivals ahead of the summer. Spurs have been looking at some of the promising young profiles as the rise in stature for Lucas Bergwall and Archie Gray may prove attractive for the 19-year-old Southampton star if he was to choose the north Londoners.
Tottenham are an attractive destination, as Levy has been on the case of Dibling since the January window, when they may have tried to sign him. In any case, Spurs could take advantage of other suitors like Manchester United’s financial constraints and open talks with Southampton to sign the 19-year-old.
