Aston Villa, Newcastle United vying for Dango Ouattara

Aston Villa and Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing 23-year-old Burkinabe attacker Dango Ouattara from fellow Premier League club Bournemouth.

According to a report by Caught Offside, Dango Ouattara has garnered a market with his exploits for Bournemouth. Aston Villa and Newcastle United are keen on signing the Bournemouth attacker, while Serie A giants AC Milan and Napoli are also interested in him. Meanwhile, the Premier League club will demand around €40 million to part ways with the 23-year-old.

Dango Ouattara and his progress at Bournemouth

Dango Ouattara has established himself as one of the most underrated attackers in the Premier League since joining Bournemouth from FC Lorient in January 2023. A native of Ouagadougou, the Burkinabe winger spent his formative years in his homeland before moving to France in July 2020.

Meanwhile, the 23-year-old has come leaps and bounds at AFC Bournemouth, becoming a regular in the final third for the Premier League outfit. Ouattara has enjoyed an exceptional campaign for the ambitious club, amassing nine goals and four assists in 30 appearances across all competitions.

Meanwhile, Ouattara’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe. However, a move across the Premier League might be on the cards, with Aston Villa and Newcastle United keen on signing the Bournemouth forward in the summer transfer window.

Move across the Premier League on the cards?

Aston Villa’s interest in Dango Ouattara is understandable. While Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio have been excellent during their loan spells with the West Midlands club, it is unclear if the duo will complete permanent moves in the summer transfer window. So, several candidates, including Roger Fernandes, are on Aston Villa’s radar, with the Bournemouth forward also a viable target.

As for Newcastle United, Miguel Almiron departed from St. James’ Park in the winter transfer window, creating a vacancy in the offensive unit at the Tyneside club. So, several options, including Francisco Trincao, are on Newcastle United’s radar, with Ouattara also an option worth considering. Meanwhile, Bournemouth will demand around €40 million to part ways with the 23-year-old winger.

The Premier League club’s asking price might seem high, but the Burkinabe attacker’s age profile might justify the valuation. It will be interesting to see if Aston Villa and Newcastle United are ready to cough up €40 million to sign Ouattara from Bournemouth this summer.
